Peter Thomas

With my family (Kimble and four children), we operate a sheep and wool enterprise at ‘Beaconsfield’, ILFRACOMBE running approximately 13,000 sheep.

We have been AgForce members since returning to the property in 2014 after working off-farm for a number of years.

My previous roles include approximately 11 years working in rural finance with Suncorp and QRIDA, 2 years with DPI/DAFF and 3 years with Grainco/Graincorp.

Thomas Perkins

My name is Tom Perkins and together with my family we run a livestock and farming operation south of Dirranbandi. Aside from a couple of educational stints in the city I have spent the rest of my life working on the land and thoroughly enjoy the opportunities and challenges in the ag sector. For many years I have been indirectly involved with AgForce through my family but took the next step to become a board member in 2024. Although only new I am enjoying the challenges and look forward to being able to support families and businesses in the bush wherever possible.

Brock Hindmarch and his wife Kat and 3 children own and manage two properties in the Charleville district.

Brock is looking forward to working with other producers and stakeholders in the SWAG group in discussing all aspects of our industry and hopefully help promote and progress our product over the next couple of years.

Producer Representation:

As a state farm organisation, our key task is to ensure that the view of sheep and wool producers in Queensland is heard at the national level. To do this, we maintain a national affiliation with the Sheep Producers Australia (SPA),  a member body of the National Farmers' Federation (NFF) and WoolProducers Australia (WPA). We have a seat on both boards, meaning that the views of the industry in Queensland, is heard at a national level. We also have a seat on the Goat Industry Council of Australia, to represent goat producers throughout Queensland.

Your AgForce Sheep, Wool & Goat board directors volunteer a huge amount of their time to meet with members, policymakers, market experts and other key representatives of the sheep industry to formulate sound policies and deliver these to government and industry service providers.

Through resolutions put forward at AgForce regional meetings, you have a direct role in setting the policy of AgForce Sheep, Wool & Goats. We are the only state farm organisation to have a direct policy-setting link between producers and directors; there are no extra layers of bureaucracy where your opinions could get lost.

A key role of AgForce Sheep, Wool & Goat directors is to discuss relevant issues with members to advise of recent developments and hear direct feedback from you.
