AgForce is urging users of regulated Schedule 7 (S7) pesticides to make themselves aware of new Queensland Health regulations.

Changes came into force on 27 September for producers, commercial baiting operators, trappers, fumigators and pest management contractors - affecting the use of 230 regulated S7 insecticide, fumigant, parasiticide and vertebrate dangerous poison products (S7 herbicides and fungicides are exempt).

Apart from direct purchase and use of 1080, PAPP and strychnine vertebrate poisons, new regulations do not apply to producers using S7 pesticides on their own property or participating in local government baiting programs.

Fee-for-service pest management technicians and commercial operators using Schedule 7 poisons are affected.
