Grain Harvest Management Scheme (GHMS)

The 2019-20 year has now opened for registration, with the scheme year starting
1 July 2019.

To join GHMS for 2019-20, please familiarise yourself with the Accreditation
Booklet and complete the Assessment Sheet and Application Form and return
to AgForce as soon as possible.

When completing your application please ensure that:

GHMS membership for 2019/20 will cost $145 (inc. GST) per vehicle. This price is indexed yearly to the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Continuing GHMS members will be able to use stickers from 2018/19 (yellow) until Sunday 14 July 2019 (inclusive) . This will allow for 2019/20 stickers to be dispatched without disrupting member’s use of the GHMS while transitioning into 2019/20.

Any deliveries received after 14 July 2019 with 2018/19 stickers will be treated as a normal load and will not receive the GHMS concession.

Background

The GHMS is designed to help manage uncertainties (varying moisture contents and densities) by providing participants with ‘flexibility’ above regulation mass limits.

The GHMS operates on a year-to-year basis from 1 July to 30 June. The GHMS benefits the grain industry, the road transport industry and the wider community. It allows an efficient grain harvest while protecting road infrastructure through eliminating gross overloading. It does this by using appropriate administrative procedures and compliance activities.

The Queensland GHMS registration process is administered by AgForce Queensland (AgForce) and is only for heavy vehicles driven on Queensland roads. For information on the New South Wales GHMS, please visit rms.nsw.gov.au.

Please note: You cannot register for the Scheme on the weighbridge. Trucks delivering under the Scheme must sign up before transporting grain under the Scheme. If you are not registered under the Scheme, Gross Mass Limits (GML), not GHMS limits will be applied.
