According to AgForce Land Valuation Consultant John Moore, there are a lot of farming businesses throughout Queensland that could be doing more to identify areas of improvement and key opportunities to sustainably grow.

To help farmers in this regard, AgForce’s corporate partners NAB, Taylor Byrne, FTI Consulting and McCullough Robertson, will be tapping into their depth of experience and specialist expertise to provide practical strategies and advice on building asset wealth and management in a series of free, interactive forums to be held in Roma, Goondiwindi and Dalby next week.

Mr Moore, who will be a key speaker at each of the two-hour sessions, said this presented a wonderful opportunity for agribusinesses in Queensland to strike the right balance between risk and reward.

“It’s been a rough 12 months for farmers throughout the state,” Mr Moore said.

“Floods, ongoing drought, devastating loss of livestock – it all costs money.

“That’s why it’s important farmers ensure they’re set-up the best way possible to begin with. So that their business can better withstand the tough times when they come along – because they will come.”

Mr Moore said the forums will focus on areas like business management and monitoring, valuations and the current market, your legal obligations in relation to contracts, and current trends in lending.

“There will be plenty of opportunities for questions from farmers, with answers provided by people like Ben Waters, Head of Agribusiness at FTI Consulting, and Lachlan Dunsdon, the Rural and Agribusiness Director at Taylor Byrne,” Mr Moore said.

“NAB will also be providing invaluable information about how producers can prepare for expansion, as well as how they can protect their agribusiness against cybercrime.

“And these forums are open to everyone. You don’t have to be an AgForce member to attend.

“AgForce is hosting these forums because there has literally never been a more important time for farmers to focus on their assets, and what they do and don’t have in place already for their agribusiness.

“These forums are for all producers, and they’re free for a reason – because we’re here to look out for the people who clothe and feed us: those hard-working Queensland producers.”
